Guidance that goes beyond the classroom

Learning goes beyond the material covered in lessons and assignments. Having the right guidance, encouragement and support along the way can make an important difference.

EMSS Lead STEM Mentors work with learners throughout their programme journey, helping them stay engaged, navigate challenges and make the most of the opportunities available to them.

Support throughout your EMSS journey

Each EMSS Regional Centre has a dedicated Lead STEM Mentor who provides learners with regular academic guidance and support throughout the programme.

Mentors lead a two-hour, in-person academic support session each week, helping learners reinforce key Mathematics and Physical Sciences concepts, prepare for exams and work through areas where they may need additional support.

Their support continues between sessions too. Mentors monitor learners’ progress and assignment completion on the EMSS digital campus, follow up when learners fall behind and are available via WhatsApp to respond to academic and programme-related questions.

They also support learners through key EMSS activities during the year, including benchmark assessments, Winter School and exam preparation.
